Roz McCall MSP, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Member of the Scottish Parliament for MidScotland and Fife, has accused the SNP of presiding over “spiralling” A&E waiting times in NHS Fife.
Roz McCall’s remarks come following the release of November’s A&E monthly waiting times, which show that just 72.7% of patients in NHS Fife were seen within the SNP’s four-hour target - with Victoria Hospital performing even worse at just 64.5%. Across Scotland, only 65.8% of patients met the target, far below the SNP’s pledge of 95%.
Roz McCall MSP said:
“A&E waiting times in Fife are spiralling out of control. Far too many patients are waiting too long to be seen in our hospitals, and we know these delays undoubtedly put lives at risk.
“These intolerable waits highlight again that the SNP has failed to provide NHS Fife with the resources it desperately needs. Dedicated staff are being stretched to their limits, forced to work in a health service that’s been neglected by successive SNP health secretaries.
“As winter pressures continue, our A&E services risk being overwhelmed. This should be the wakeup call for Neil Gray to deliver a proper plan for Scotland’s NHS - one that prioritises frontline resources rather than squandering funds on pointless bureaucracy.
“Patients and hardworking staff deserve so much better than this. “
